This line of buildings was designed to give the end user several choices without having to design their own. By doing this we can hold cost down compared to a custom built cabin. These cabins evolved to give you the best design for the space. But if you don't see exactly what you want, we can still custom build one just for you.

    Barns

    General shelters' barn style building offers a classic barn look with lots options for storage buildings. The barn is our most popular style of building because of the immense overhead storage capabilities with the addition of a loft. Add a workbench and pegboard for a nice workshop. If you need to get your riding mower or utility vehicle in a dry secure location add a six-foot roll up door. Porches add great functionality and eye appeal to your building.   • Efficiency Gables

    Efficiency Gables

    With only a slightly different profile than the gable, the efficiency gable is a very popular building. This building has horizontal metal and a lower roof pitch. The fiberglass panel located at the top of the back wall offers the perfect amount of light during daylight hours. Limited options are available as this building was designed to cut material costs without sacrificing quality.

    Peaks

    The peak style building has a lower profile roof that looks great whether in a residential or commercial setting. Peaks are also available with a roof overhang. An overhang adds to the appearance while protecting you from the elements.

    Established by James Campbell over four decades ago, General Shelters of Texas, Ltd. has enjoyed consistent growth. Since its humble beginning in 1973 as a company with one product to one of the largest portable building manufacturers in Texas, General Shelters is recognized as an industry leader.

    Our headquarters and manufacturing facility is situated on twenty-six acres nestled in the beautiful Texas Forest Country of Center, Texas and has a workforce of ninety plus employees.

Our emphasis is on quality, stepping outside of the industry standard to create the building that you can use and enjoy.

    In 1999 we started roll forming metal for use on our buildings and have since started fabricating steel building kits, carports, residential and commercial roofing and everything from covers to large warehouses.
